Now this is a tip that should be very easy for you to get behind because it means less washing, and we’re recommending that you do just that! In order to maintain the fit and colour of your jeans, one of the simplest things you can do is not wash them too much. Levi’s themselves recommend not washing your jeans any more than once in every 10 wears.

What if you're clumsy and are always dropping food down yourself, I hear you ask? Instead of fully washing your jeans every time you get a mark or stain on them, try to use a mild soap and a damp cloth and just work on the marked area.

When you do come to the point where your jeans are starting to need a wash, a great thing to do for your jeans (and for the environment) is to wash them in cold water. Cold water washing prevents fading and shrinking.

(Fun Fact: 90% of the energy used to power your washing machine goes towards heating the water, so using cold water not only saves your jeans but saves you some energy too.) Want more facts? Click here

If there is one thing you can do to preserve your precious Levi’s, it is to NOT put them in the tumble dryer. I know it can be more convenient, but over time it will break them down, change their shape, warp them and fade them. The best way to dry your jeans is to turn them inside out and hang them out in the shade. Drying them this way will preserve their shape, stop them from fading in the sun and, most importantly, not leave you with soggy pockets!

We hope you can make use of these easy tips and tricks and we wish you and your Levi’s a long and prosperous life together.
